International Tourist Guide Day

Every year, on 21 February, we celebrate International Tourist Guide Day dedicated to raising awareness of the value of our profession, which is linked to the safeguarding and sharing of cultural heritage.

Established in 1990 by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) and promoted in Italy by the National Association of Tourist Guides (ANGT), it involves hundreds of guides around the world through events, initiatives and visits designed to raise public awareness of the importance of competent and respectful guides.

Our members in Venice also participate actively, offering free tours to citizens and anyone who wants to learn more about lesser-known aspects of the city.

The International Tourist Guide Day is an occasion to meet, share and listen, in which we present our work and our daily commitment: to narrate, protect and educate.
